iSave turns Instagram reels and YouTube videos you choose into structured notes. This policy explains what data we handle and why. Plain and short — no dark patterns.
What we collect
- Account info — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. That's the only thing Google shares with us.
- Videos you submit — the Instagram or YouTube URLs you send, plus the audio transcript, any text visible on screen, and the notes we generate from them.
- A session token — stored locally in the extension so you stay signed in.
We do not collect your Instagram password. We never see it.
How we use it
- To download the video's audio, transcribe it, read any on-screen text, and extract notes — the core feature.
- To show you your own notes and keep them tied to your account.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. It's processed by the services that make the app work:
- Google — sign-in.
- Groq — audio transcription.
- Z.AI (GLM) — note extraction from transcripts.
- Google Gemini — reading text that appears on screen in a video (we send a handful of still frames). Google's free tier may use submitted content to improve their services.
- Render / Neon — hosting and database storage.
Transcripts and video frames are sent to these services solely to produce your notes.
Permissions the extension asks for
- identity — Google sign-in.
- storage — remember your session and import progress.
- contextMenus / activeTab — the right-click "Save with iSave" action.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your notes stay until you delete them. Delete any reel from the app to remove it and its notes. To wipe your whole account, contact us and we'll delete everything tied to your Google ID.
