iSave turns Instagram Reels you choose into structured notes. This policy explains what data we handle and why. Plain and short — no dark patterns.
What we collect
- Account info — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. That's the only thing Google shares with us.
- Reels you submit — the Instagram URLs you send (single or via "import saved"), plus the audio transcript and the notes we generate from them.
- A session token — stored locally in the extension so you stay signed in.
We do not collect your Instagram password. The extension never sees it — importing works only on pages you're already logged into in your own browser.
How we use it
- To download the reel's audio, transcribe it, and extract notes — the core feature.
- To show you your own notes and keep them tied to your account.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. It's processed by the services that make the app work:
- Google — sign-in.
- Groq — audio transcription.
- Z.AI (GLM) — note extraction from transcripts.
- Render / Neon — hosting and database storage.
Transcripts are sent to the transcription and note services solely to produce your notes.
Permissions the extension asks for
- identity — Google sign-in.
- storage — remember your session and import progress.
- scripting + access to instagram.com — only to scroll your own Saved page and collect the reel links you choose to import. Nothing on Instagram is read otherwise.
- contextMenus / activeTab — the right-click "Save with iSave" action.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your notes stay until you delete them. Delete any reel from the app to remove it and its notes. To wipe your whole account, contact us and we'll delete everything tied to your Google ID.
